And So It Begins….

Hello! I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself to you. My name is Aimee Albright and I have been working on shows at The Biz since 2012.  I began as a Stage Manager with The Biz’s first show Beauty and the Beast Jr. I fell in love with being a part of the behind the scenes team supporting the cast and helping them make every show the best it could possibly be. I continued Stage Managing and eventually began assisting the producer.  This summer I was given the opportunity to co-produce Peter Pan Jr. and was also presented the awesome opportunity to direct Dear Edwian Jr.! I am very thankful to my mentors Jeff Van Paris, Craig Whitcombe and Rachel Shelton.  I have learned so very much from these three talented directors.

My last five years of involvement with youth musical theatre has inspired me to go back to college to pursue a degree that will allow me to teach theatre. You can honestly say I was bitten by the theatre bug!

My goal for the cast of Dear Edwina Jr. isn’t what you might expect. My focus will be on making the rehearsals and performances a positive, inclusive experience for each and every cast member.  I will spend time during rehearsals teaching some theatre exercises to help your cast member develop as a performer.  My goal is not that we will have a great show, but that your cast member will have a positive theatre experience and become a stronger more confident performer. I believe the result of focusing on these topics will be one of the best productions of Dear Edwina Jr. the theatre audience has ever witnessed.

Please take a few minutes to read the following important information.

Communication

  • This blog will be the primary form of communication. Please make sure to subscribe so that you do not miss anything.  Click here to subscribe
  • In an effort to streamline communications ALL emails should be sent to dearedwina2017@gmail.com.  Please do not send show specific questions to The Biz email. CC’ing The Biz is appropriate if you feel it is necessary.
  • We will also be using Remind for shorter communications. Text @dejbiz to 81010 to join. You can respond to messages and it will only be seen by the directors.  This is the best way to let us know you are running late to a rehearsal.
  • All information for Dear Edwina Jr can be found on The Biz website at http://thebiz-academy.com/pawpaw

Attendance

  • All conflicts written on the audition form will be marked as excused.
  • You may have no more than 2 additional excused conflicts for this production.
    • We understand that sometimes issues come up at the last minute and illness are never something we plan for. However, each and every cast member is essential to this production and when we are missing just one person, it affects the entire cast.
    • Excessive conflicts will be handled on a case by case basis with the Directors (Aimee Albright and JaimieRiechman) and Producers (Jeff and Jan Van Paris).
  • Attendance is MANDATORY for all tech week rehearsals and all performances.
  • If you have a fever over 99.0 degrees, have vomited or had diarrhea within 24 hours of rehearsal please let us know and plan on staying home. We love to share but we don’t love to share germs!

I am looking for to beginning rehearsals for this production.  I know we will all have a great time! If you have any questions please send a text thru Remind or send an email to dearedwina2017@gmail.com.  Welcome to The Biz family and welcome to Dear Edwina Jr.
