Allison Williamson – Director/Instructor
Allison Williamson graduated from Indiana State University majoring in music education with a concentration in voice. She has been an active member in the community theatre scene, and graduated from Danville High school in 2015. She has been in multiple Biz productions, including Jekyll and Hyde the Musical in 2018 where she played Emma Carew. She is now a Director, Music Director, Instructor, and Voice Teacher at The Biz. Allison teaches elementary music in Mooresville and is ecstatic to further her teaching career with The Biz!
Doug King – Dance Instructor
Doug King is a local actor/choreographer/director. He is currently on the dance faculty at Anderson University teaching jazz, tap and musical theatre. He danced locally with Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, Indianapolis Ballet and Dance Kaleidoscope in its annual Yule Tide Celebration. When Disney was in town, Doug danced in the Pan Am opening ceremony, The 500 parade, and The 500 Governors breakfast. Doug was on the first national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT with Donny Osmond as Levi and in the Canadian national tour as Dan. In Indianapolis, Doug works with Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre as an actor, choreographer, and director. He most recently was in OKLAHOMA and MARY POPPINS. He has played “The Scarecrow” in WIZARD OF OZ, “Cosmo Brown” in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, “Will Parker” in OKLAHOMA, and “Joy” in CINDERELLA.
Rachelle Macavage – Dance Instructor
Born and raised in Virginia, Rachelle Macavage began dancing at the age of 4. She danced with the city dance academy and placed in numerous competitions for tap and ballet/pointe. She continued to dance and graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Special Education and a minor in dance. She and her family moved to Avon 3 years ago. Before that she taught Ballet, Tap, and Jazz for 16 years at the Dave Ragnacci Dance Studio in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is thrilled to get back into dance and excited to be joining the Biz.
Renee Maynard – Musical Director/Instructor
Renee was born and raised in Brownsburg, IN. She graduated in December 2017 from Harding University with a degree in Vocal Music Education. She teaches elementary music in Brownsburg. She began taking piano lessons at the age of seven and voice lessons at the age of ten. Renee is a former Biz kid herself, having performed in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Les Miserables, as well as taking tap lessons and serving as a camp counselor. Her favorite roles include Polly Baker in Crazy for You, Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly!, and a two-time Hostess for Harding University’s Spring Sing Music Extravaganza, which she also choreographed. Renee is a Music Director, Camp Instructor, and Voice Teacher at The Biz, and she teaches the music for the Biz Ambassadors. She is so grateful to be taking on this position and to share her passion for musical theatre with her fellow Biz kids.
Alexandria Van Paris – Private Voice Teacher, Choreographer, Director
Alexandria was born and raised in Avon, Indiana, where she began performing at the age of six. As a child, she performed in over forty productions, many of those at professional theaters around the country. She has also directed and choreographed several youth productions, making her choreographic debut this summer at The Biz for “13: the musical.” Alexandria holds a B.F.A in Musical Theatre from Ball State University and now calls New York City her home. As a member of Actors Equity, she has performed professionally in Georgia, Ohio, New Jersey, South Carolina, Indiana, Wyoming, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York City. Favorite credits include: Swing in the Pre-Broadway Lab Revival of Crazy For You with Tony Award-Winning director/choreographer, Susan Stroman; Cassie in A Chorus Line (Off Square Theatre); Sheila us Cassie in A Chorus Line (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina), Bombalurina in Cats (Beef & Boards); Velma Kelly in Chicago (The Legacy Theatre); and Jean Harlow in the World Premiere of Chasing Rainbows: Road to Oz (Flat Rock Playhouse). Locally, you may have seen her on stage with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s annual Yuletide Celebration, as well as Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre in Chicago and Cats. She is thrilled to join the teaching staff at The Biz to help the youth of Indiana learn about the real side of the musical theatre business and give them tools to mold them into well-rounded, triple threats.
